Welcome to Troop 69!

 Welcome to Troop 69!

Troop 69 is a very active and outdoor-based troop comprised of 77 enthusiastic scouts and many more supportive adults.

We are boy-led and parent supported. We are a group of families who believe in giving our time and talents to help develop our boys through the scouting program.

We are very proud of our advancement program, where dedicated adults work with scouts at all levels of advancement to help keep them on track to meet their goals.

We are open to all faiths and backgrounds.

Our troop offers:

  • Meetings for 3 Monday’s each month from 7pm to 8:30pm at 59 N Main St, Alpharetta, GA 30009
  • A Boy led troop where members learn to lead in a safe environment
  • A strong advancement process including a first-year program designed to help them cement their scouting journey.
  • As a larger troop, we are able to put on our own Merit Badge Clinic twice per year to help our scouts advance quickly.
  • At least one outdoor activity each month
  • Annual beach trip and ski Trip
  • Summer camp: Woodruff, Powhatan or Summit Bechtel
  • Each year we send 3+/- crews on high adventure trips to Philmont, Sea Base, Northern Tier and Summit Bechtel. This is in addition to annual summer camp!

<------ Be Sure to check out our "Who we are videos" on the left panel.

Visit with Troop 69!

If you are looking for a troop to join we would love to talk with you about Troop 69.  Please contact our committee chair, Cory Kelsh at chairman@miltontroop69.org.

While we reap the rewards of a larger troop in regards to financial strength and adult volunteer power, we also provide more youth leadership opportunities. Each patrol has it's own youth leadership roles as well as many troop-level youth leadership roles to keep the troop organized and productive. Training for both youth and adults are provided at every level.

- Although we strongly support girls in scouting, we do not have shared meetings or troop events with female troops to allow each to have their own spaces.

Costs:

> Weekend campouts are held each month and average $35 per scout. (Plus Annual Ski Trip: $230 est)
> Annual membership: $150  (We do NOT sell popcorn)
> Summer Camp averages $500 and will be June 7-13, 2026 at Woodruff Scout Camp in Blairsville, GA

Join us for ADVENTURES like SUMMER CAMP at Powhatan in the mountains of Virginia, Fall camping at the BEACH at Hunting Island State Park, GOLFING at Ft. Yargo, SKIING at Beech Mountain and HIKING at Standing Indian. Every year we have scouts attend High Adventure camps for "trips of a lifetime" at places like Seabase in the Florida Keys, Philmont Ranch in NM and the Northern Tier National Camp on the Canadian border.

Join us for SERVICE in our own community by volunteering at Alpharetta events, collecting donations for charity and cleaning up local parks.

Join us for ADVANCEMENT in our very own 1st year Program specifically designed to help new Scouts succeed their first year and reach "First Class"! We want to start your Arrow of Light off right and keep him engaged and excited about scouting. We have terrific, experienced, parent leaders and involved parents - some of them were scouts themselves - many are Eagles! And each year, Troop 69 will see several more boys achieve their dream of becoming an Eagle Scout. Every year we grow more, learn more, advance more and enjoy more!
